A scooter accident involving a truck at Gatthaghar Chowk in Bhaktapur has resulted in one death and another injury.
A 12-wheeler truck (Na 8 Kha 2311) heading from Bhaktapur to Kathmandu hit a scooter (Ba. Pra. 02-038 Pa 4401) traveling in the same direction at around 7 AM today, leading to the death of a woman.
The deceased has been identified as 41-year-old Nabina Deula, according to the Bhaktapur District Police Office. She passed away at Bhaktapur International Hospital during treatment at 7:45 AM.
Navina’s husband, Jite Deula, sustained injuries in the accident and is undergoing treatment at Civil Hospital. He is an office assistant at the National Service Corps, Sundhara.
The truck driver, 38-year-old Buddha Bahadur Ghalan of Makwanpurgadhi–4, has been taken into custody by the Thimi Police Circle.
It is noteworthy that on Shrawan 31, a similar incident occurred in Gatthaghar where a truck hit a scooter, causing one death and escalating tensions in the area.
