Locals in Devchuli Municipality-2, East Nawalparasi, have locked the main gate of the Chaudhary Group Industry Village in protest against the pollution and dust caused by the industry.
On Monday, residents frustrated with the ongoing environmental issues took action by locking the gates of the prestigious industry. Thakur Prasad Sharma, coordinator of the Sangharsha Committee, stated that despite five days of protests, the industry’s administration has shown no interest in addressing their concerns.
Locals have long demanded pollution control measures, and their frustration reached a tipping point when they locked the premises. They warned that if their demands for environmental protection are not met, the situation will worsen.
Demonstrators gathered at the main gate, raising their voices with slogans such as “Stop blowing black ash,” “Stop water pollution,” “Ensure the right to live in a clean environment,” and “Stop playing with people’s health.”
The Sangharsha Samiti has outlined eight key demands, focusing on immediate action to control pollution and protect the health of residents.
