Binu Yadav, a woman known for her activism, has been arrested by the Nepal Police on charges of vandalism. She is accused of painting the Supreme Court’s main gate black on Tuesday.
Yadav has been a vocal advocate for victims of domestic violence, claiming to be one herself. She gained public attention last year when she attempted suicide within the court premises after a divorce verdict was issued against her. Before this, she had also staged a hunger strike, which was eventually broken after an agreement with the government.
The five-point agreement outlined that the government would take necessary action in her case and provide support for her livelihood. However, recent events suggest ongoing struggles and frustrations.
The police are currently investigating the incident and will take further legal action as deemed necessary.
